It’s been awhile since our last visit here & we are so happy that we came. We were seated right in front of the lake..what a great view! our server Alexis was super friendly & efficient. Our fish & chip, Burgers & nachos were all tasty and well priced, what a wonderful experience and are already looking forward to our next visit soon!

Today was one of the hardest days of my life — I had to say goodbye to my beloved childhood dog. My heart was heavy with grief and the day felt endlessly dark. In need of comfort, I went to one of my favorite places: Down the Hatch. This restaurant has always been a go-to for great food and service, but today it meant something more. I was lucky enough to be served by a kind soul named Chloe, and I truly believe I was meant to cross paths with her. Her warmth, kindness, and effortless positivity brought light to a day full of sorrow. She turned my sadness into a moment of peace — something I’ll never forget. Thank you, Chloe, for being the sunshine in my storm. 5/5 stars isn’t enough. I’m forever grateful.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Down the Hatch, and it completely exceeded my expectations. From the atmosphere to the food, everything was on point. What truly made the night unforgettable was our server, Chloe. She really embodied the family vibes one can expect at such an establishment. Chloe was exceptional. She was warm, attentive, and always seemed to be there at just the right moment. She knew the menu in detail, offered great recommendations, and her friendly energy made the whole experience feel comfortable and enjoyable. It’s clear she takes pride in making guests feel welcome. She even went out of her way to be extra sweet to my little girls. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Down the Hatch is a must-try. If you can, ask for Chloe. She made our night.

Nice stop on the lake, pull up with your boat, grab a bite, have a drink what a cool spot... Just wish there were more places like this. Food is typical bar with some additional fish options like the Mahi Mahi sandwich was a pleasant surprise(see pic). Other seafood entrees and tacos are on the menu too. Open and airy make this place nice with lake views too. Oh well Down e Hatch does check most of the boxes so I take it as is!

If you haven’t stopped in to this place your missing out. With a great mix of American and seafood fare and amazing views you can’t help but enjoy. Sorry I took the pictures after we started eating. we had a seafood mix over avocado and shellfish over salad both delicious.

Whenever boating on Candlewood Lake with friends we always stop at this classic restaurant on the lake. Service is attentive, food is good, plenty of choice for fish lovers and non fish eaters. Blackened Mahi Mahi, salads was delicious. Great lake views wherever you sit. Lots of seating on all levels. Service is attentive and friendly.
